On October 4, 2010, GALLINA LLP and Burnett + Company LLP, two of the Sacramento Region's top accounting firms, announced they merged operations effective October 1, 2010. Under the terms of the agreement, Burnett + Company LLP will assume the GALLINA LLP name and Steve Burnett, managing partner and founder of Burnett + Company LLP, will serve on GALLINA LLP's executive committee.

Steve Burnett, a former partner at GALLINA LLP, went on to establish Burnett + Company LLP in 1983. "Great timing and mutual respect brought us back together as we realized the immense potential for our clients by merging two highly-successful firms," said Burnett. "A casual conversation took an opportunistic turn as we realized how well our combined firms would truly complement our clients, and how this merger will also benefit many new clients by expanding the services both firms could provide independently."

The merger represents continued growth for GALLINA LLP which was established in Sacramento in 1972 and is recognized as one of California's largest regional accounting firms with offices in Sacramento, Roseville, Walnut Creek, San Jose, San Bruno, Novato, Reno, Seattle, and now Rancho Cordova. GALLINA LLP is ranked the 19th largest firm in California by CalCPA and recently ranked 115 by Inside Public Accounting 2010 in the top 200 firms in the United States.

GALLINA LLP plans to move their Sacramento office currently located at 8001 Folsom Blvd., into Burnett + Company LLP's 2870 Gold Tailings Court office in Rancho Cordova. All other offices will remain at their current locations. There are no plans to eliminate any positions as a result of the merger.
